    Technological Teaching Tools


    The Anatomage Table is the only fully-segmented, real-human 3D anatomy system. Students can visualize anatomy exactly as they would see it on a fresh cadaver. Individual structures are reconstructed in accurate 3D, resulting in an unprecedented level of accurate anatomy, dissectible in 3D. Anatomy is presented as a fully interactive, life-sized touch screen experience, in operatory bed form. The Table allows for exploration and learning of human anatomy beyond what any cadaver could offer.

    The Table allows students to interact with young and well-preserved digital cadavers instead of aged and degenerated bodies. The accurate details and rich content draws students’ interest and attention, leading to more effective educational outcomes.

    Plastinated Model

    ACM also uses a fully plastinated cadevar in the teaching of anatomy. This give our students an up-close look at human anatomy in a way that cannot be shown with three-dimensional models. When the physiochemical treatment is performed correctly, the microscopic cell structures maintain their original shape. Plastinates are accurate representations of preserved bodies illustrating all functional structures perfectly and are visually appealing. They have also been shown to be far more practical for use in teaching anatomy as these are non-toxic and, unlike cadavers, last 15-20 years.

    Lab Tutor – Teaching and Learning? Physiology and Biochemistry

    LabTutor (AD Instruments) is an interface between our data capture equipment in the lab and a student-friendly virtual learning environment (VLE). It is an online learning platform with ready-to-use content for life sciences, nursing, and medicine. The software allows our students to capture real-time data in the lab, on their blood pressure, heart rate, etc., but also a whole range of activities such as testing their vision, reflexes and even kidney function. The LabTutor resources come with pre-lab knowledge reviews, and quizzes to allow students to make the most of their contact time in the lab. Students can then reflect with post-lab quizzes, providing excellent pedagogical practice.

    The Programmes

    Preclinical Sciences

    The Preclinical Sciences program curriculum is a systemic base approach to teaching the basic sciences required knowledge with a Pass-Fail grading system. ACM uses an organ system-based, entirely integrated curriculum that focuses on active learning formats, primarily in small-group settings. This type of curricular approach addresses the need for medical students to develop critical thinking skills that will assist them both in the practice of medicine

    Clinical Sciences

    The Clinical Sciences program begins in the 4th year of the MBChB program. Students who successfully complete the preclinical program will matriculate into the clinical sciences program. Here, students continue to develop clinical and communication skills in all areas of patient care, under the direction of the medical faculty at teaching hospitals in a patient-centered environment.
